Faliraki is often referred to as
Ibiza’s counter part, and with plenty of bars and night clubs just
ten minuets walk from the beach its easy to understand why.
Faliraki is 15 km from Rhodes town and 10 km from Rhodes airport,
making it one of Europe’s most popular tourist destination for a
number of years.
There are bars and clubs to suite everyone’s tastes, you name it and they have it, 60’s, Drum n bass or pop. They even boast the islands only Scottish bar, waiters complete with kilts, serving all manner of Scottish ales and whiskey. Ermou street, which runs of the main square, is considered the main bar street, but if you are willing to do some exploring you can find some fantastic spots to drink like ‘the castle’, over looking Faliraki, that sits on three levels with one pool bar that plays live bands, a jazz bar, and a disco bar. Its far more than your typical Faliraki bar.
There are even some bars that are hosted by famous British DJS. Don’t be fooled by the amount of bars Faliraki is the perfect family resort, with plenty do to in the day. The beach along Faliraki has been awarded the converted blue flag award, meaning they are very clean and safe. Faliraki is famous for its water sports, if you can think of an activity to do on the water, then you can probably do it on Faliraki bay, water skiing, jet skiing, boating, parasailing and more. IF you were to travel about 4 km up from Faliraki bay you would come across Kalithea spring, a thermal spring popular with tourists and locals for thousands of years becase of its medicinal and relaxing properties.
There is no shortage of things for children to do in Faliraki, whether they want to explore the ‘Seal’s Cave’ at Ladiko Bay, or spend the day at the fun fair and go-karting arena by Kalithea Avenue. They could play a few rounds at ‘Georges Crazy Golf’ or splash around at one of two huge water parks. And if the kids are worried what you are going to do in they day tell them not the fret, there is glof, shops and for the more adventures a beach sling shot, strap yourself in and be flung though the air at almost 100 mph, this is not for the light hatred.
